It's Raining Presents . . . for Bubs (of course)

Well I have been once again reminded of my tardiness with blogging (thanks brudda)!! I promised a weekly update till the birth, it will normally be on a monday though. So the last two weeks have literally been monopolised with baby showers . . .Mine on the 16th June & my friend Kylie (who is due on the 26th of July) on the 24th June.
My surprise guest was MIL (Dot, Tim's mum) who arrived in Hobart approximately 2 hours prior to the beginning of the shower unbeknownst to moi. My mum and I were both sitting in a cafe @ salamanca with Ash (one of my other lovely friends)when this lovely blonde in black and leopard skin walked in - the loveley Dot.!!!!
It was a beautiful afternoon - all put together by Christal (my beautiful friend who's bub Jackson appears frequently on this blog). Christal did an amazing job with all the organisation and running of the event. We had high tea in a lovely venue, the food, company and atmosphere were all amazing! Naturally bubs was spoilt rotten with many many many gifts, all useful and exciting!
Dot unfortunately could only stay one night and then jetsetted home, however mum managed some more time and was here till Tuesday night. It was nice to spend some time together - preparing for bubs and discussing some techniques for survival in those first few weeks! Mum is back on the 9th July (monday week & 1 week prior to the due date). Following mums departure on the tuesday night i spent the rest of the week cooking and preparing for Kylie's shower. This did wonders for my nesting/baking fetish that I have developed! Kylie's shower was Sunday and went off without a hitch . . . Naturally the rest of this week I have been sleeping and resting in preparation for the big event. I am soooooo tired but very excited and not feeling particularly patient as we wait and wait and wait.
Mum & I attended the 36 week check with the Obstetrician and bub is head down and a good size . . approximately 7-8 pound at birth. All of this is fabulously normal. Tim survived his Perth trip, however only just. He took the red eye home (left WA @ midnight and arrived in VIC 0500hrs, then 3 hr wait to board a flight to Hobart). The plan was for him to sleep from WA - VIC however he got stuck beside the passenger from HELL - 31yr old female, hardcore party girl, 7 sauv blancs and some cheese and crackers later he was attempting to run and hide in Melbourne airport from her as she offered to sit with him while he waited for his plane! He assures me that she was not interested in him for his manliness - I beg to differ, I said she was obviously up for a good time and he would have drastically disappointed her by not obliging - she even bought him wine to butter him up!! Needless to say I went to collect him from the airport and was met by a very exasperated zombie who kind of looked like my husband!!
Well Cleo has forceably made her way onto my lap despite the laptop being there so i think i will sign off before i obtain a back injury!!
Updates soon xoxoxo Caz

Lady of Leisure

I am sorry........I just will forever be apologising i think as i can't keep up with demand/need!! So the latest news...Well I am now officially a lady of leisure, i was made to stop work GRRRRR however i am quite quickly adjusting to the lifestyle! There had been many coffee and cake dates with friends and multiple nanna naps to be had by moi :) The furry daughters are loving it as they have a personal food slave and lap or warm bed to cosey up with as it gets . . . shall we say . . . FREEZING!!!!!! Over the weekend we had a couple of tonne of wood delivered (I have included some pics) which tim (lucky him) got to stack and as you'll see sox and i did a fabulous job of supervising!! Cleo on the other hand was impersonating a tiger in the jungle as she loves to do (trust me there is no chance she'd survive in the backyard for more than 24hours without her hills science diet let alone in the jungle)!!! She thinks she's a hunter, truth be told she can't even run straight LOL :)

The nursery is nearly all set up and ready for our long awaited arrival! I am getting bigger each week and the belly is stretching (girls i am sure you all know what i am talking about hear, only 1 thus far though). My baby shower is this weekend and i am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Jenny (who flys in tonight) and i am told there may even be a special guest (noone will tell me who and as you all would know it's KILLING me!!!!) Tim is flying out to Perth on saturday morning for MND presidency stuff (i.e. AGM) I have been teasing him for some months by saying he shouldn't go so far because i may go into labour . . He would promptly tell me that the hospital would not let me deliver 4 weeks early......well timbo, i asked them yesterday at an appointment and they said that to the contrary - i would be allowed to have this baby!! So now we are both hoping that i can keep that slippery little sucker right in there as it would most certainly be a least opportune time for them to come out and say hello???!!!!
Sorry about the sideways sox photo but am unsure how to flip it!! I will update soon (notice no time frame) with some nursery and baby shower pics oh and maybe even some of timothy!!! Lots of love to you all

Crazy Morning Hair and a big Belly

Hi all.....Long time no blog, I know!!!! A few of you have been on to me about updating and i promise you, i am trying!!!!!

This photo was taken only days ago just before work! This has become my new uniform, the maternity shirt they supply from work is a hideous scallop neck 1980's preggo smock which i have refused to wear. Speaking of work . . I have only 2 weeks to go YEAH!!!!!! My fabulous boss has rearranged my work shifts so that i can work out in the outpatient clinic. This means i can spend more time on my butt and less time rushing around. These last couple of weeks i have struggled to get through my 5 days on the ward with inpatients.....
